1. Do I need to be a certain age to qualify?

You should not be older than 28 years on 1st July 2018 in order to be eligible for the programme.

2. Do I need to be fluent in English and Hindi?

Yes. Both Hindi and English are used as working languages in Haryana. Hindi is the usual medium of communication in government meetings and documents. English is the medium of communication for programme related documents and submissions. As such high working proficiency in both is required by the programme.

3. I am a student currently. Can I apply?

You can apply either if you have completed your undergraduate degree and will have completed at least one year of full-time work experience after graduation, or if you will have completed a postgraduate degree or diploma in any discipline by June 2018. Neither summer nor winter internships, or any other part-time internships will count towards the work experience eligibility criterion. If you have not received your postgraduate results at the time of applications, then any offer extended is conditional to still fulfilling the eligibility criteria at the start of the programme. Associates are prohibited from undertaking any full-time or part-time educational course concurrently with the programme.


1. How do I apply?

Applicants should register on the portal provided here and complete and submit the online application once applications for 2018 are open. There are no paper forms to complete and no application fee.

2. What is the selection process?

Recruitment, selection and initial orientation, mentoring and monitoring during the programme will be conducted by Ashoka University. There will be a three-stage selection process as follows:

  1. Review of online application form
  2. Telephonic Interview
  3. Personal Interview


1. What are the dates of the programme?

CMGGA 2017 will begin on 1 July 2018 and will run through 2019. Fellows are expected to remain committed to the programme for the entire duration.

2. What is the weekly time commitment required for CMGGA?

This is a full-time paid position with a six-day working week. The Associates are required to discharge their duties at the district from Monday to Saturday. Associates must be present at the knowledge forums, seminars and meetings that they are required to attend as part of the programme, which may occasionally occur on the weekends.

3. Do Associates receive vacation time?

Associates will have the three national public holidays off (Independence Day, Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, and Republic Day) as well as any State holidays published by the Government of Haryana. In addition, Associates can also avail a maximum of 14 days of leave during the year, with not more than 3 days leave taken consecutively. We encourage Associates to not take any leave during forums and trainings as those are critical to the success of their projects.

4. What stipend and facilities will the Associates be entitled to?

Associates receive a stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month, including Rs. 5,000 for communications and office expenses such telephone, internet, printing, stationery, etc. Applicable taxes will be deducted at source from this amount. In addition to the monthly stipend, travel costs will be reimbursed to a maximum of Rs. 30,000 per month. Accommodation in the assigned district and in Ashoka University during all training periods will be provided to all associates.

5. How long is the programme?

All CMGGAs will be selected for one year, initially. After the completion of the first year, the Associates and the Programme team can both take a call on extending the Associate’s tenure by another year based on interest and performance over the year.

6. If selected, can I continue to work with other organizations?

The CMGGA programme is a full-time position. Associates are prohibited from working anywhere else (paid or unpaid) during the time they are part of the CMGGA programme.

7. Where will I be based out of?

Selected Associates will spend their year in their appointed districts where they will work closely with the Deputy Commissioners and other district officials.

8. As an Associate, what will the main areas of my work be?

In the districts, the Associates will be responsible to ensure implementation of the flagship government initiatives and to execute regular mandates received from the Chief Minister’s Office. Associates will also implement innovative scalable solutions at the district to address various locally relevant issues.
